Hey there, I'm Josh. My story starts on a farm in the heart of rural North Carolina, surrounded by tobacco fields. Art found me young, thanks to a high school teacher who instilled in me a sense of place and purpose. Her teaching gave me direction, leading me to Appalachian State University where I studied Painting, Drawing, and Education.

Teaching art to high school students became my calling, allowing me to share the joy of making while nurturing young minds. But my personal journey wasn't just about teaching; it was also a constant search for that same sense of belonging and purpose.

Golf, with its beautiful landscapes and fascinating community, provided the missing piece. The game's aesthetic and soul captivated me. I'm an addict of both playing and painting the arenas of the game.

Scotland and its legendary linksland hold a special place in my heart. My painting journeys have taken me there twice, and as a founding member of Spey Bey, I'm always searching for opportunities to return and immerse myself in its magic.

My work is a reflection of my passion, my connection to nature, and my unwavering dedication to artistic growth. It's an invitation to join me on this journey, to explore the landscapes, communities, and soul that inspire me to create.

Put simply, I try to capture the simple pleasure of a quiet walk down an empty fairway after grabbing the last tee time of the day.
